Progression
Add 2.5 kg per side when 3×5 is clean; drop to low incline for variety.
Regression
Incline DB press if shoulder impingement arises from fixed bar path.

Watch for

  • Bench too steep (>45°) — turns it into a shoulder press
  • Bar bouncing off chest
  • Flared elbows — loads anterior delts over chest
