- Upper chest engages without the shoulder-dominant angle of steeper inclines.
- Progression
- Progress to standard incline press; add paused reps at the bottom.

- Flat DB press if shoulder position at any incline feels unstable.
Watch for
- Bench too steep — becomes a delt exercise
- Bells drifting toward face at the top
- Not touching the chest — shortens the eccentric
